Want more math?
FTE's Instructional Partner came up with a list of math website options. He has rated each one for content and engagement. Note that many of the websites have ads and content may change so please monitor your child's involvement.
https://www.mathplayground.com
Very cool site. Lots of games and lots of topics. I gave it 9/10 for content and 9/10 for engagement.
https://www.arcademics.com
Another very cool site. Again, lots of games and topics. 8 for content, 10 for engagement.
https://www.fun4thebrain.com
Lots more games. 8 for content, 9 for engagement.
http://www.sheppardsoftware.com
Decent site, even though the appearance of it is a bit boring/monochromatic. 7 for content. 8 for engagement.
https://www.varsitytutors.com/aplusmath/games
Has basic fact bingo and hidden pictures, which are decent games, but that's pretty much it. 6 for content. 7 for engagement (although not many options)
http://www.kidsmathgamesonline.com
Has different options that are more off the grid beyond the standard fact practice, like ordering decimals, logic games, and puzzles. Decent variety. 7 on content. 6 for engagement.
Listed below are more resources that you can use, some do require subscriptions and/or login information:
By the end of third grade, all students need to have mastered their multiplication facts (0-10) with three second automaticity. If all else fails, old fashioned flash cards can REALLY help with this. In addition, it is really important that students don't loose the automaticity of their addition and subtraction facts they learned in lower grades.
Concerned About Math Facts?
The first 2 are websites that generally explain why they're important and are pretty short. The third one is lengthy but really rooted in research, and the author is well-respected in the math community.
